Unlike the basic Windows task manager, Advanced Task Manager tells you whether a program connects to the Internet, spies on what you type, is an Internet server, is hidden, is encrypted on disk, has invisible windows, and much more. The security risk rating helps you decide if the task is a virus, spyware, malware, or trojan. If you discover a process you don't want running on your computer you can quarantine it so it doesn't start anymore.

The program includes a Startup Manager which helps you control the tasks that start automatically with Windows. It also provides several other tools to give you detailed information about important Windows internals such as DLL files, Internet connections, CPU and memory use.
